Many gas and/or electrical utilities offer rebates to their business customers for purchasing specific types of energy efficient food service equipment. Before you buy any new piece of food service equipment, look below to see if your state utility offers rebates.
California
Customers of California utilities PG&E, SCE, SoCal Gas and SDG&E, are eligible for rebates on energy efficient foodservice equipment:

New York
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority helps commercial and industrial facilities, including restaurants, non-profits, colleges, and schools to reduce energy costs within their commercial kitchens, including capital purchases that reduce energy, water consumption and costs.
NYSERDA is offering incentives on selected high efficiency commercial food service equipment. Incentives range from $30 to $1000, depending on the model, for these pieces of equipment:

Austin Gas Conservation Commercial Program Texas Gas Service will give an incentive for the installation of high efficiency natural gas cooking equipment, such as water heaters, booster heaters, infra-red fryers, convection ovens, conveyor ovens and infra-red griddles.
