Applications: Refrigerated units with clear glass doors or cases are used to showcase food in a chilled environment. Specific styles allow customer self-service, whereas other have rear access for operators to have easy access to merchandise to provide quick service. Back bar coolers, bottle coolers, glass frosters, and keg coolers are beneficial to many types of foodservice operations that offer a bar service.
Types: Sushi display case, deli case, bottle cooler, outdoor beverage cart, meat case, seafood case, bakery case, revolving merchandisers, beverage merchandisers, bottle & can coolers, and floral display coolers.
Features: Most units have lights, adjustable shelves to display merchandise, condensation evaporator, and front loading or rear loading of merchandise. Self-contained units require no external plumbing or floor drain. Many manufacturers have installed environmentally friendly insulation and use environmentally friendly refrigerant.
Energy Source: To ensure widespread compatibility with most foodservice situations, most units run on single phase 110-120 volts.
Temperature Range: Designed to maintain an average case temperature of 35° to 40° F without condensation on the front glass. Adjustable temperature controls provide the flexibility to chill a variety of products.
Construction: Units are commonly manufactured in a combination of aluminum and stainless steel; 100% stainless steel constructed units are slightly more expensive, but also more durable and easier to maintain. To help maintain interior temperature, units often use 2”-3” polyurethane insulation. Showcase units often have thermopane curved front safety glass, which adds insulation, but allows the customer to clearly view the merchandise.
Maintenance: All types of specialty coolers should be cleaned and sanitized, inside and out, particularly those showcasing raw food. Wire shelves can be cleaned in any warewashing appliance. Units on casters add mobility to ease thorough cleaning.
Certifications: Units can be NSF listed under standard No.7, UL Safety and UL Sanitation listed., and ETL listed to meet product safety standards.
