How to Whitelist ACityDiscount to ensure you receive all Special Offers

Unsolicited and unwanted advertising email, or "spam", has become such a big problem that most email services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have put some sort of blocking or filtering system in place to reduce spam. However these systems are far from the solution. In fact they often block email, particularly those with images that you've requested. To ensure uninterrupted delivery of all offers and coupons from ACityDiscount you will need to "white list" ACityDiscount.

A whitelist is a list of email addresses or domain names from which an email blocking program will allow messages to be go through to the inbox of your email program.

As every email system is different we have provided instructions for some of the more popular ISPs and spam filtering or blocking software.

AOL
For AOL version 9.0: Add our sending address to your 'People I Know' list to ensure that your ACityDiscount offers are delivered to your Inbox:
  • Open your latest ACityDiscount email.
  • Click the Add Address button (over on the right) to add ACityDiscount to your 'People I Know' list.

    Alternatively, you can send an email to acitydirect@acitydiscount.com, and that will add us to your 'People I Know' list automatically.
  • Open your latest ACityDiscount e-mail and copy the address in the 'From' line.
  • Or type the address acitydirect@acitydiscount.com in the 'From' line.
  • Click the Reply button (it's in the top right corner).
  • A new email window opens with an address pre-filled in the 'Send To' box.
  • Replace the address in the Send To box with the one you copied out of the From line.
  • Click Send Now (it's in the top right corner).

    If you're using an earlier version of AOL, you'll need to set your Mail Controls instead. Here's how:
  • Go to Keyword Mail Controls.
  • Select the screen name we're sending your ACityDiscount to.
  • Click Customize Mail Controls For This Screen Name.

    For AOL version 8.0:
  • Select 'Allow email from all AOL members, email addresses and domains.'
  • Click Next until the Save button shows up at the bottom.
  • Click Save.

    For AOL version 7.0:
  • In the section for 'exclusion and inclusion parameters', include these domains: acitydiscount.com
    peachtrader.net

    • Yahoo! Mail
    Here's how you can instruct Yahoo to filter ACityDiscount offers to your Inbox.
  • Open your Yahoo mailbox.
  • Click Mail Options.
  • Click Filters.
  • Next, click Add Filter.
  • In the top row, labeled From header:, make sure contains is selected in the pull-down menu.
  • Click in the text box next to that pull-down menu, then enter acitydirect@acitydiscount.com
  • At the bottom, where it says 'Move the message to', select Inbox from the pull-down menu.
  • Click the Add Filter button again.

    If you still have trouble with Yahoo mail check also check under 'mail options-spam filter' to ensure that messages marked 'spam' are not immediately deleted. If this is the case you will never see them.

    Here's how to adding our 'From' address to your Safe List to ensure that your ACityDiscount offers are delivered to your Inbox.
  • Log on and click the Mail tab to get into your mailbox.

  • Select Safe List.

  • Open the latest email from ACityDiscount (the confirmation letter will do, too).
  • Click the Save Address button. (It's over to the right in the line of options just above the e-mail.)
  • Click OK.

  • On the Add Contact screen, find the Internet Information box.

    • Microsoft Outlook version 10.0
    There are several ways to set up filters with this Outlook 10.0. Here is the easiest way:
  • Open Outlook. In your Inbox, look for the email message which indicates it is from ACityDiscount. Left click on this message once.
  • Go up to the Navigation menu and point your mouse to Tools. Left click on Tools and a drop down menu will open. Click on the two arrows pointing downwards to see an item called 'Organize.' Left click on this.
  • In your Inbox, you will see a menu with the title 'Ways To Organize Inbox.' At the top of this menu, you will see 'New Folder ...' You want to left click on this.
  • A new dialog box will pop up on your screen called 'Create New Folder.' In the 'Name' field simply type in 'ACityDiscount' The left click on 'Ok.' A new pop up will appear asking whether you want to create a short cut on your 'Outlook Bar.'
  • If you use the Outlook Bar to access the folders in your Inbox then left click on 'Yes'. If not, and you simply left click on 'Inbox' to move around, then left click on 'No.'
  • You will notice in your 'Ways To Organize Inbox', Outlook has filled in the necessary items, and all you have to do is simply left click on 'Create'. By doing this you are instructing Outlook to create a new rule, causing the existing message and all future messages from ACityDiscount to go into the sub-folder you just created in your Inbox called 'ACityDiscount'.
    The next time you receive a message from ACityDiscount, Outlook will automatically send it to the mail box called 'ACityDiscount'. You can then read our emails at your leisure.

    • Other Email Programs
    Many popular email programs, including older versions of Outlook and Netscape; Outlook Express and Eudora, do not provide a convenient way for you to white list the people you want to receive email from.

    If you're using this sort of email system and you either aren't receiving emails from ACityDiscount or want to make sure you continue to receive ACityDiscount offers in the future, here is what to do:

  • Contact the customer service representative at the company that provides your email or internet service (your ISP). Explain to them that ACityDiscount is a company whose email you want delivered to your Inbox. Ask them if they can white-list ACityDiscount. They'll probably ask you for some information about us, here's what to tell them:

  • Sending Address: If they ask for our address, tell them this email address: acitydirect@acitydiscount.com

  • Domain: If they need to know the domain we're emailing from, tell them acitydiscount.com and peachtrader.net
    Should they need us to contact them to arrange our white-listing, simply email acitydirect@acitydiscount.com with the details and we will do the rest and notify you when the process is completed.
