The HC GDM-12 is a fine unit with issues
Pros: - Chills like a champ. Fast - Very functional use of space
Cons: - Very noisy - Leaky glass panes
This is my second GDM-12. They are great machines. I have had this one in my bar for 4 years now. I bought this R-290 unit because I thought it would be more energy efficient and it is. But it is seriously loud compared to me earlier R-134. This may not be a big deal for a commercial environment, but it is almost unbearable for a residential setting. I kind of got used to it over time but I would give up efficiency for less noise now. It has also suffered from leaky door glass. Is has a double-pane glass but mine gets condensation between the panes. It doesn’t affect the performance much but it gets a lot of negatives comments from ky guest asking what’s wrong. It does a great job chilling though. Except for the two issues, I love it. But I’ll research moose before I buy my next one.
