Arctic Air, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, manufactures single and double door reach-in refrigerators and freezers. They have also recently added a line of single and double door undercounter coolers and freezers, pizza prep tables, and sandwich / salad prep coolers.. All units are tested to meet NSF "Store Anything" Standard 7, but are hundreds of dollars less expensive than competitive brands.
Arctic Air has recently changed from a white painted exterior design to a stainless steel exterior. In addition, product operation and performance has been enhanced in order to meet the demands of the commercial foodservice industry. With these changes came upgrades to the functions of the refrigeration line therefore improving the reliability, durability and functionality of their products.
Arctic Air products undergo a vigorous inspection process in order to ensure that their product lines are up to industry standards. There are quality control inspections throughout the manufacturing process and all units are tested for a minimum of 13 hours before being packaged and shipped.
The refrigerator looks nice and seems to work well. It was a great price. Shipping was quick and acitydiscount was very helpful. I have no real qualms about this fridge. You set the set point temp at whatever you want it and it rises 4 degrees above that and then cools down back to the set point. I was assured this is how all refrigerators of this style work. I'm not sure how I feel about the temp rise, but I guess it makes sense to not constantly have the fridge running. It would be nice if the top basin was deeper.
Unless I'm told that the temp rising and falling is NOT normal, I'll keep the score as it is. The company told me that's how it works, so I assume they're right. If I'm assured this is industry standard I'll raise the score to 5.
