Manitowoc Ice was founded in 1902 as a shipbuilding firm but since that time, they have grown and diversified. Today they are a leader in the commercial ice machine industry. In its 360,000 square foot Wisconsin facility, Manitowoc manufactures a complete ice machine product line with 200+ models ranging in ice-making capacities from 65 to 3,380 pounds per day. This top-quality equipment produces ice for drinks and food preparation in restaurants, catering establishments and hotels across the nation.
They have a variety of models in their product line, such as undercounter ice machines, water filtration systems, ice machine head and bin combos, ice dispensers, and models that produce dice cubes, half-dice cubes, nugget and flake ice, such as the recently announced Koolaire Budget Series and their new NEO Series undercounter units. The NEO Series features a variety of ice types in both air and water cooled models, including air cooled half dice machines in the following sizes: NEO 140, NEO 190, NEO 240, and NEO 310.
This machine far surpassed my expectations. We installed it outside in a vented shed in southwest Louisiana and it still performs better than stated. It fills up overnight in high heat conditions. The price is what sold me on this machine. I put a heavy beach towel over the door to help insulate the box since it was sweating from the temperature differences.
I've been using these filters to protect my Manitowoc ice machine for a number of years. I'm always amazed at how much rust and sediment they catch, even on city water. Easy to change and worth every penny.
The Maxine does an excellent job of making ice, clear, great size, slow melting. The only reason I didn't rate excellent across the board was due to noise factor. My previous model a Kitchenaid Superba, was quiet except when discharge pump came on. This one you can hear during whole production cycle. Manitowoc shoul do a better job of insulating for a home/office environment. I would still recommend it due to the other attributes!
This is a hard working little machine, it's rated at 198 lbs. per day, I think that it will out perform that estimate easily. The cooling fan is robust and makes some noise. That's the only thing I can find to complain about. Over all I am not disappointed.
Excellent machine so far. (First week)
The cooling fan is a little loud, but the unit is so much more efficient than our old QM45 it runs far less. The ice bin stays full! We are sure that this will be fantastic for our summer months.
The price was better than we could find anywhere else.
