The Southbend PCE11S/TI-V is a high-performance electric convection oven designed to deliver commercial cooking capacity without the installation demands of a traditional exhaust hood. Its ventless configuration makes it an especially practical choice for restaurants, bakeries, cafeterias, food courts, leased spaces, and other kitchens where conventional ventilation is difficult or expensive to install. With 11 kW of heating power, touchscreen controls, a bakery-depth cavity, and multiple rack positions, the PCE11S/TI-V provides the functionality of a full-size commercial convection oven while offering greater flexibility in where it can be installed.

One of the biggest advantages of a ventless convection oven is the potential reduction in installation costs. A conventional hood can require significant investment in the hood system, ductwork, make-up air, structural modifications, installation, and ongoing maintenance. Southbend's ventless design eliminates the need for a traditional hood system and does not require additional equipment or utility connections for the catalytic ventless system. This can make the PCE11S/TI-V a cost-effective solution for expanding cooking capacity in an existing kitchen, adding equipment to a leased property, or outfitting locations where installing ductwork is impractical or prohibitively expensive. The ventless system also does not increase the oven's footprint, helping operators maximize valuable kitchen space.

The PCE11S/TI-V's catalytic converter is what makes ventless operation possible. During cooking, the oven continuously recirculates air through an oxidation catalyst positioned around the oven fan. The catalyst uses coated stainless-steel fins that react with grease vapor and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at the molecular level. Through this oxidation process, much of the grease-laden vapor and VOCs are converted into primarily water vapor (H?O) and carbon dioxide (CO?) before the treated air is released. Southbend reports that its ventless ovens produced just 1.17 mg/m³ of grease-laden effluent during UL testing, below the cited 5 mg/m³ allowable limit.

Beyond eliminating the need for conventional external venting, the Southbend PCE11S/TI-V combines ventless functionality with the features commercial kitchens need for consistent production. Touchscreen controls provide manual, recipe, and rack modes, while the two-speed fan promotes even heat circulation and the high-efficiency glass and dual door seals help retain heat. With five plated racks and 11 rack positions, the oven offers flexible capacity for baking, roasting, and general commercial cooking. The result is a versatile ventless commercial convection oven that can help businesses reduce installation complexity, preserve kitchen space, and add dependable cooking capacity without the expense and limitations of a traditional hood system.
