We recently visited the Marietta location, right on the historic Marietta Square, to see firsthand how Woody’s has made itself a community favorite. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the cleanliness of their operation, their efficient kitchen setup, and the kind and welcoming team behind the counter.

A Legacy That Started in Midtown Atlanta

Woody’s Cheesesteaks began its journey in 1975 with its original location in Midtown Atlanta. In 2010, business partners Matt and Steven took over the iconic shop and began building on its already legendary status.

After a few successful years running the Midtown location, the pair decided to expand, opening a new location in 2019, followed by an East Atlanta spot in 2021, and most recently, their newest home in Marietta. The Marietta Square location offers a vibrant, community-driven atmosphere with a newly revitalized green space in the back—perfect for families, after-school hangouts, and local events.

Simple, Classic, Delicious

Woody’s menu is all about simplicity and quality. Their claim to fame is the classic cheesesteak—thin-sliced steak, grilled onions, and melted cheese served on a hoagie roll straight from Philadelphia. It’s a Philly favorite made with Southern pride.

As Matt shared, “It’s a personal point of pride to see how their lives have grown and changed for the better since starting at Woody’s. We’ve all grown together, and that’s what makes it really amazing.”
