Engineered to eliminate the high expense and structural restrictions of installing traditional ductwork, the Wells WVC-46 Ventless Canopy Hood System provides a versatile, self-contained ceiling- or wall-suspended ventilation solution ideal for commercial kitchens, food trucks, historic buildings, kiosks, sports arenas, and leased spaces with strict venting limitations. Mount or suspend this 46-inch canopy unit directly above compatible electric cooking equipment—such as electric convection ovens, conventional ovens, combi ovens, cook and hold ovens, and steamers—and hardwire it to a dedicated electrical supply to capture grease-laden air and cooking vapors right at the source. The unit utilizes a completely self-contained multi-stage air filtration system, combining stainless steel baffle grease filters with high-efficiency HEPA and activated charcoal filters to clean recirculated air before returning it into the room. This ventilation system is engineered exclusively for electric cooking equipment because ventless hoods recirculate indoor air; gas-powered appliances produce dangerous combustion byproducts like carbon monoxide, gas flues, and excessive moisture that recirculating air filters cannot safely absorb or remove, whereas electric appliances generate only grease particulate and steam. Built with durable stainless steel, a factory-installed Ansul fire suppression system, quiet variable-speed blowers, and intelligent airflow sensors that automatically shut off connected cooking equipment if filters are missing or full, the Wells WVC-46 complies with NFPA 96 standards to deliver maximum layout flexibility, enhanced safety, and a rapid return on investment anywhere electricity is accessible.
