Fans, Exhaust / Make-Up Air
Commercial exhaust and make-up-air fans are a necessary component of your restaurant's ventilation system. ACityDiscount carries a broad assortment of exhaust and MUA (make-up-air) fans with numerous CFM and voltage options - we can even provide custom ventilation solutions to fit your restaurant's specific needs.
Tips from the Experts: "It is important to properly place a make-up air unit. If a unit is placed too close to an exhaust vent, it may end up pumping exhaust back into your kitchen."
Commercial exhaust fans vent air from your kitchen to the outside. They can be mounted either on the roof or a wall, depending on the requirements of your kitchen, and are available in either upblast or downblast varieties.
Make-up air fans pull fresh air from the outside into your kitchen, replacing the air pushed out by the exhaust fan. It's important to mount them in a place where they will not be recirculating exhaust back into the kitchen.
Your commercial exhaust and make-up-air system needs to be sized appropriately for your kitchen to ensure that your air is being properly filtered and exhausted. Please read through our sizing guide for more information on how to choose the appropriate fans. What should I know about exhaust fans and make-up air?
You should be aware that your buildings insulation will affect air pressure. A "leaky" building is less likely to create negative air pressure than a "tight" or well-insulated building. Negative air pressure can cause your fan to function less effectively.
